Why do you insist

upon throwing

completely full litter box droppings

into the top

of the kitchen

garbage can,

without putting it first

into a separate

plastic

bag.

And then leaving

the can to sit,

it’s scent intermingling

with the smell

of my sizzling quesadilla

as if the cat

were taking a shit

on my

frying pan.
